Meet the Sheep

Breeding quality Finnsheep in Washington State.

Finnish Landrace Sheep, or Finnsheep, are a small but hardy breed originally from Scandinavia. They are multipurpose (fiber, meat, dairy), and docile from years of living alongside people since Viking times. Their medium-fine wool comes in multiple natural colors, and has a lovely crimp and luster. Finnsheep are naturally polled (hornless), have short tails that don't require docking, and are perhaps best known for having "litters" of lambs. It is not uncommon for a ewe to birth three or four lambs each year!

Finnsheep fit into the regenerative farm ecosytem by fertilizing the soil and mowing the grass as we rotationally graze them through our meadows. By intensively managing them and moving them frequently, we avoid parasite risks and overgrazing. The result is happy, healthy, grass-fed sheep living their best sheep lives as they would naturally.
