Have you been dreaming about keeping bees but don't know where to start? Come spend the afternoon with Nai'a LeDain and the bees at Moonrise Meadows and get up close (safely!) with Buzz & Bloom's hives as she walks you through everything you need to know to begin your beekeeping journey. This hands-on workshop is designed to give you a real, grounded introduction to life with bees.
What we will cover
Meet the bees - observe the hives and talk through what you're seeing, hearing, and maybe even smelling
Bee biology basics - workers, drones, queens, and how the colony functions
Equipment options - from Langstroth to top bar and everything in between, we'll figure out what setup works best for your situation
Styles of beekeeping - conventional, treatment-free, biodynamic, and more
